Pressed metal stampings in soft copper are prone to pickup and tool marks when contact pressure is concentrated. Polished working surfaces, suitable lubricant, and conservative radii help the material move without tearing. Formed metal stampings may need staged deformation rather than one aggressive hit. The same applies to precision sheet stampings with closely spaced openings, where local distortion can accumulate across the pattern. Replaceable wear inserts are useful around high-contact areas, but their joints must not print through to a functional surface.

Metal formed stampings should be checked after the process reaches a repeatable setup, not only from the first acceptable piece. A sample report can cover tube-hole position, profile, flatness, burr height, surface condition, and fixture fit. Before the Stampings Part is quoted, the buyer should share the 2D drawing, 3D drawing, die technical standards, press specification, annual quantity, and joining requirements. Packing method also matters because soft-copper plates can bend or rub against one another during transport.

If the plate will be brazed, expanded, or mechanically locked to tubes, the trial should include that downstream operation. Residual burr, local dish, or contamination may only become visible during joining. Trays, separators, or controlled stack height can prevent the soft copper from rubbing and keep the hole field flat until the parts reach the assembly line. A retained assembly sample can show whether the plate stays square after joining.
